Collection: Heavens to Betsy

Betsy Goodenough, designer and owner of Heavens To Betsy!, graduated from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY, majoring in Studio Art with a concentration in graphic design and photography. After graduating she moved back to her home state of Connecticut. Betsy worked for several advertising agencies and design firms before starting her own graphic design business. As the owner of Betsy Goodenough Design, some of the many projects she has worked on include advertising and sales promotion for a well known publishing company; catalogs, invitations and trade show exhibit design for the Fancy Food Shows; packaging for General Foods; annual reports for Unicef and brochures for Sotheby's International Realty.

One afternoon, Betsy opened up her journal and began brainstorming. "I wanted to use my creativity and design ability to create an original appealing product. Being a print designer, I especially loved working with ink and paper. I had found and fallen in love with wonderful old engravings and woodcuts that I thought would have a universal appeal if I incorporated them into my designs." Being ecologically minded, all of her products are printed on recycled paper. Betsy's love of nature and photography has her out and about hiking and walking whether she is close to home or somewhere on vacation. Part of the added joy, for Betsy, is looking through the lense of the camera and capturing the beautiful scenes. She has added a line of photo cards to her product offerings, using her own photography and literary quotes from naturalists such as Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau and John Muir and poets such as Maya Angelou, Oscar Wilde and Walt Whitman.

Living and working out of her cozy farmhouse, in the Litchfield Hills of CT, Betsy finds inspiration everyday in the natural beauty that surrounds her.
