San Jose Wheel Pottery

Mothers Finding Peace in Clay
Amanda organized a beginner wheel pottery class last month in the Bay Area where she and another participant spent two hours learning how to shape clay into unique creations. It was fun, a little messy, and challenging working the clay with the wheel, hands, and lots of water. They learned the importance of patience and firm, steady hands when molding clay on the wheel and got to create two different pieces that will be fired and glazed for them to bring home in 1-2 months.
It was a day filled with struggles and laughs. The group was so focused on their clay pieces that they really let go of their thoughts and responsibilities as moms to young infants/toddlers for those 2 hours and it was truly refreshing.
"It was great to get out of my comfort zone, try something completely new, and clear my mind mentally and that's the whole point of these experiences"
